Jennifer Lopez has been paid a staggering $2 million by a Russian billionaire to perform at a private concert. Andrei Melnichenko (left) has asked the Latin star to put on a 40-minute show at his wife Aleksandra's 30th birthday party tomorrow night. Melnichenko is paying for the performance and a further $800,000 to fly J.Lo's entourage from the US to Britain where the party will take place.The bash will take place in the Berkshire countryside although J.Lo and her entourage will stay in a top London hotel which is included in the payment. A source close to the singer said: "Andrei and Aleksandra are huge fans of J.Lo and were thrilled when she agreed to sing for them. It will be an unusual audience for J.Lo, as the bash will be packed with billionaires."The party, which will take place in a marquee decorated like a plush nightclub, will be an extravagant occasion, with the all-day event including a cabaret and circus act. This is not the first time the couple - who count Chelsea football club's billionaire owner Roman Abramovich among their friends - have splashed out on a celebrity performance. When they married in 2005, they paid a reported $4 million for Christina Aguilera to sing at their wedding in the South of France.

JENNIFER LOPEZ AND MARK ANTHONY FILE LAWSUITS AGAINST NATIONAL ENQUIRER

Jennifer Lynn Lopez, one of the richest Hispanic's in Hollywood according to Forbes magazine, and her husband Marc Anthony are suing the National Enquirer seeking "substantial damages" for a story which alleged the couple were linked to a drug scandal.They hired a Belfast-based lawyer Paul Tweed, a special lible lawyer, who told Reuters he had filed a lawsuit with the Belfast High Court on Tuesday, announcing they "will now make similar applications in Dublin, London and other jurisdictions." Paul Tweed said the Enquirer story was "totally unfounded.""It's virtually impossible to sue for libel in the United States because of First Amendment protections," Tweed explained to the Reuters news agency. "But these publications are now appearing in Ireland, the UK and France, and on the internet, and they're now subject to the libel laws of these jurisdictions." The article at question was published last month under the headline: "Jennifer and Marc Caught Up In Heroin Scandal". The March 12 article also reprinted a 2004 picture of Anthony standing beside photographer Michael Star, who is facing charges of heroin possession and child pornography in the U.S. Tweed told AP that actress-singer Lopez, 38, and singer Anthony, 37, were seeking "a six-figure settlement" from the Enquirer, based in Boca Raton, Fla., and its parent company, American Media Inc. A spokesman for AMI, Richie Valvo, said the company had no comment. "It would be our policy to not comment on it at this time, Valvo said. Lopez and Anthony married in a quiet home wedding on June 5, 2004, where guests had reportedly been invited to an "afternoon party" at Lopez's house and were not aware that they were actually going to the couple's wedding.

JENNIFER LOPEZ REPORTS FOR JURY DUTY

Jennifer Lopez completed her jury duty in Los Angeles yesterday. The 'Jenny from the Block' singer arrived at the Beverly Hills Courthouse at 8:30am accompanied by an assistant. A source told gossip website TMZ: "She spent most of her time in the jury room texting on her mobile phone."She was really down to earth and talked to the other jurors."At one stage in the proceedings, the 39 other prospective jurors were ushered into the hallway, while Jennifer remained in the courtroom with a specially assigned deputy. Another source said: "The jury room was quite chilly and after lunch she came back wearing a sweater and scarf and accompanied by a different assistant."At 2.30pm the case was resolved and all the jurors were free to leave.

Jennifer Lopez left fans cringing after she fawned over her husband during a concert on Tuesday night. The 'Jenny from the Block' singer performed to a crowd of just 500 at NewYork's Spotlight Live venue to promote her first Spanish-language album 'Como Ama Una Mujer (How a Woman Loves)' and was joined on stage by her husband Marc Anthony. Jennifer thanked the crowd, which included her mother and sister, for coming and was interrupted by a call of "I think you're so cute" from the audience. Jennifer replied: "And my husband is here."After her first song the 37-year-old said: "The next song is a little treat. In a second you'll see why."She was joined on stage by Marc, 38, and they performed a romantic duet during which he pulled her into an embrace and they gazed into each other's eyes.When the song ended Jennifer said: "How you like them apples? That's my baby, for better or for worse!"After the concert the couple partied in the VIP area, drinking champagne and feasting on giant puffs of pink cotton candy, marbled "monkey bar" brownies, chocolate-dipped donuts and milk shakes in shot glasses. A source told People magazine: "They stayed close and whispered to each other."When Justin Timberlake's 'SexyBack' came on, Jennifer threw her glass up and shook her famous booty with her hand on Marc's shoulder."The couple - who married in 2004 and filmed a movie together last year -left at midnight, hand in hand.

Jennifer Lopez's first husband Ojani Noa has been denied permission to publish a tell-all book about their marriage. J.Lo has obtained a restraining order barring Noa from publishing intimate details of their sex life, nine months after she filed a Superior Court breach of contract suit. On Monday, Superior Court Judge Victor H. Person ruled Ojani couldn't publish the book under the settlement terms of another lawsuit dating back to October 2005. A progress meeting will take place on July 30. Cuban-born Ojani's book alleges J.Lo had several extra-marital affairs, including one with her current husband, Marc Anthony. J.Lo could be awarded in excess of $10 million in damages if the book is published. J.Lo and Ojani met while he was working as a waiter in a Miami restaurant.They married in February 1997 but divorced just 11 months later.

Jennifer Lopez's new reality show auditions descended into chaos on Friday when two animal rights protesters stormed the stage.The singer-and-actress is producing reality show 'Glow After Dark' to promote her new perfume of the same name, but protesters from PETA gate crashed the auditions at a California branch of the US department store Macy's. One protester took the stage, pretending to audition, and said: "I think the most important thing about being a diva is not only being sexy and being stylish, but is not wearing real fucking fur! You're such a fur-cat J Lo."She was dragged off stage by the presenters while a second protester jumped on stage brandishing an anti-fur poster and chanting "J. Lo ho!" J. It excites me to think that I could be capable of changing opinions, or of making people laugh or cry. It's a beautiful facet of the work that we do."The 37-year-old, who graces the magazine's February front cover, was listed ahead of fellow singers Shakira, Ricky Martin and Gloria Estefan.
